About the Role

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Manager, Group Reporting to support the financial and regulatory reporting activities of the insurance business. This role plays a key part in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of group reporting requirements, financial close activities, and IFRS 17 reporting processes.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with senior finance leaders, actuarial teams, internal and offshore finance teams, auditors, and various business stakeholders to ensure reporting obligations are met in accordance with Group requirements and regulatory standards. This role offers excellent exposure to insurance finance, financial reporting, governance, and controls within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end financial close activities, including journal preparation, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting deliverables in accordance with reporting timelines and Group requirements.
  • Support IFRS 17 reporting processes, including month-end activities, reporting reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Perform analytical reviews of financial results and investigate significant movements, variances, and emerging issues.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, finance, operations, and business teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data flowing into the general ledger.
  • Support the preparation of financial reporting schedules, trial balances, and audit documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate with auditors and stakeholders to facilitate audit reviews and resolve queries in a timely manner.
  • Strengthen financial controls and governance processes surrounding general ledger substantiation and reporting activities.
  • Implement and maintain effective end-user controls to ensure compliance with internal policies and governance requirements.
  • Support Finance-led risk management and control initiatives, including First Line of Defence (FLOD) responsibilities and assurance activities.
  • Partner with Group, Regional, and local stakeholders to support process improvements, reporting enhancements, and change initiatives.
  • Contribute to the identification of process efficiencies and automation opportunities to improve reporting quality and operational effectiveness.
  • Assist in the assessment, monitoring, and documentation of key financial and operational risks and controls.
  • Support ad hoc finance projects, regulatory reporting requirements, and business initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, insurance finance, audit, or finance operations within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Prior experience in insurance finance and reporting, with exposure to IFRS 17 is good to have.
  • Good understanding of financial reporting standards, accounting principles, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting month-end close and group reporting processes within a complex financial services environment.
  • Comfortable working with large volumes of financial and operational data.
  • Knowledge of risk and control frameworks, including operational risk management, SOX controls, and governance requirements.
  • Ability to identify issues, assess risks, and develop practical solutions to improve processes and controls.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at various levels.
